Community Impact

Since the Sobrato Family Foundation’s formation in 1996, we have made 1,231 grants to 386 local agencies totaling approximately $70 million in cash and in-kind space grant investments - strengthening and helping to sustain the capacity of local nonprofits working in the areas of education, health, human services and general public benefit. Additional program investments in affordable housing loans increases the total to $86 million in community giving.

Pro Bono Legal Partnership

Beyond our own giving, the Sobrato Family Foundation helps to facilitate additional capacity building of the nonprofits that it supports. As such, the Foundation has a partnership with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati who is generous in providing pro bono legal assistance to effective organizations. To date, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has provided in-kind pro bono legal support to 39 Sobrato Family Foundation grantees and contributed over 22,000 hours of service valued at $6.8 million dollars to help support their legal needs.
