PHILOSOPHY
Local nonprofits are the
essential delivery system for our Foundation realizing its mission of
helping create and sustain a vibrant and healthy community where all Silicon
Valley residents have equal opportunity to live, work and be enriched. It is
our Foundation’s goal to achieve maximum impact by responding to nonprofits
agencies greatest needs. For example:
Community Problem
Access
to quality meeting space to host community meetings, retreats, trainings and
fundraisers for their Boards, staff, volunteer and donor cultivation
activities is limited throughout Silicon Valley.
Our
Philanthropic Response
To
rehabilitate former office buildings and transform them into two conference
centers, now known as the Sobrato
Community Conference Center Milpitas and Sobrato
Community Conference Center San Jose. The multi-purpose training and meeting
spaces are designed to support place-based organizing that is accessible to all
Bay Area nonprofits rent-free on the Sobrato Center for Nonprofits
campuses.
Community Impact
The Sobrato Foundation provides more than $355,000 in rent free meeting space at its Milpitas
and San Jose sites annually.
MILPITAS FEATURES
The facility has several outstanding features:

Free meeting space in five multi-purpose rooms that can
be flexibly configured based on your needs; all rooms include
state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment and speaker phones

meetings

CompassPoint Nonprofit Services’free Nonprofit Resource Center
that is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation
Center and includes an online fundraising research database of 50,000
grantmakers as well as 200 book titles and nonprofit publications on
fundraising, boards of directors and general nonprofit management

ELIGIBILITY
Any charitable organization is eligible to utilize the Conference Centers on a first-come, first-served reservation basis. A Certificate of Insurance naming the Sobrato Foundation, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, ANB Property Corp. and The Sobrato Organization as additionally insured on your agency's current insurance policy is required before using the facilities.

Community Conference Coordinator will respond to your inquiry within three
business days of having received your request.
